Follow these steps to save the data of a 3D model you created and use it in other software.
Works you can save from
For works where you generated a 3D model with tokens, you can save both GLB and 3MF files. Saving doesn't cost any extra tokens.
How to save
- From "Gallery" in the menu at the top of the screen, open "Works" and select a work with a generated 3D model.
- On the work page, select "保存" (Save).
- Choose "3Dモデル（GLB）" (3D model, GLB) or "3Dプリント用データ（3MF）" (3D print data, 3MF).
The save menu is currently shown in Japanese, so the labels above are written as they appear on screen. The 3MF file is prepared when you choose it, so it may take a moment before the download starts.
Differences between GLB and 3MF
GLB
- 3D data that combines the shape and colors (textures) in a single file.
- Example uses: viewing or editing it in 3D software, or displaying it in 3D on a web page.
- It can be opened in 3D software that supports the glTF format, such as Blender. Depending on the software and version, colors (textures) may not load correctly.
3MF
- A format for 3D printing. It includes color information and is created at a size where the longest side is 80 mm.
- Example use: opening it in slicer software to prepare it for printing on a 3D printer.
- It opens in slicer software such as Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and UltiMaker Cura. You can change the size in the slicer. How much of the color information is loaded depends on the software, so please also check your software's documentation.
About 3D printing
Ordering 3D prints through Figmee is Coming Soon. You can't place an order yet. Once the service is available, delivery will be limited to Japan. The 3MF file is meant for your own 3D printer or for print services that accept 3MF files. Because the data is generated automatically, whether it prints as is, and how accurately colors and fine details are reproduced, depends on your printer and software.
