Celebrate the Big Day with a Drawing and a 3D Model
In Japan, Shichi-Go-San ("Seven-Five-Three") is a cherished tradition celebrating children's growth at ages 3, 5, and 7. Photos of the festive outfits are a precious record, but this year you could add something new: draw your child in their outfit and turn the drawing into a figurine-style 3D model. Whether your child draws themselves or a parent draws while looking at a photo, the result is a keepsake you can spin around on screen.
Why "Draw It, Then Make It 3D" Suits Shichi-Go-San
The drawing time becomes part of the memory
Talking about the kimono pattern, or whether to add the chitose-ame candy bag, while you draw is a memory in itself. It doesn't have to be perfect: the lines and colors of that age become the cues for the 3D shape and colors.
A growth record you can line up
Turn the drawing from each Shichi-Go-San milestone into a 3D model and compare them in your Figmee gallery. You'll see not only how your child grew, but how their drawing grew too, which photos alone can't show.
Easy to share with grandparents far away
Each 3D model can be exported as a 360° video that spins twice in about six seconds (in Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Chrome on Android). Send it through your family chat, and grandparents far away can watch your child's festive look turn around.
How to Turn a Shichi-Go-San Drawing into a Figurine-Style 3D Model with Figmee
- Draw your child in their festive outfit — Your child, a sibling, or a parent can draw it. Drawing while looking at the photos is fine
- Photograph or scan paper drawings — From directly above, in good light, with the whole sheet in the frame
- Upload to Figmee — PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 20 MB per image
- Generate a figurine-style image (3D image), then a 3D model — The image usually takes 2–3 minutes, and the 3D model a few minutes
- Save and share — Save the 3D model data (GLB / 3MF). Ordering a physical 3D print is Coming Soon; you can also have the 3MF printed by an external 3D printing service
Photos of your child themselves (photos of real people) can't be turned into 3D on Figmee. If an image is judged to be a photo, generation stops and the tokens you used are returned automatically. Use your photos as a reference for drawing.
Ways to Enjoy Your Shichi-Go-San 3D Model
- Line it up in your Figmee gallery next to the original drawing
- Add the 360° video to your family's shared album
- Compare the 3D models from each milestone to look back on your child's growth
- If you'd like a physical piece, have the 3MF printed by an external 3D printing service (ordering from Figmee is Coming Soon)
Make the Milestone Last
Each age of Shichi-Go-San comes only once. Alongside the photo album, turning a drawing of your child's festive outfit into a figurine-style 3D model with Figmee keeps the time you spent drawing, too. When your child grows up, the drawing and the 3D model will both be treasures.
